Established in 1977, this is a town of 260 families. The founding group originally lived in a fortress from the days of the British, which was later renovated and today houses Shirat Hayam, a musical high school for girls. There are local services in the town and a swimming pool that is open during the summer months.

Worth Visiting: Meir Spring, at the foot of the town; Helioston Ancient Village, ancient ruins of a Jewish village from the second Temple period; Shimon Orchard, where Land of Israel flora can be seen; Neve Tzuf Forest Reserve, one of the first nature reserves in Israel.
